Obituary: VELMA L. MORRISON CARTER, daughter of Charles Henry Morrison Sr. and Isabella Dunn

Velma Lucy Morrison Carter, beloved mother and grandmother, age 81, passed away December 25, 1990 at a daughters home of congestive heart failure.

Born August 13, 1909 in Eureka, Utah to Charles Henry and Isabella Grove Dunne Morrison. Married John Byron Carter Sr., April 4, 1931. She was a member of the LDS Church, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and the Granite Park Lady Lions Club.Survivors, son, John B. Carter Jr.; daughters, Barbara and Al McNulty, Annette and Brad Smith, Grace and Bruce Jackson; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, and two grandchildren, Michelle and David Gressmen.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at Crescent 1st Ward, 11000 South 100 East. Friends may call Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, Thursday, 6-8 p.m. and Friday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Lake Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Utah Cancer Society.

Obituary: Glenn F. Morrison, son of Charles Henry Morrison Jr. and Isabella Quarnberg

1927 ~ 2001

Glenn F. Morrison, beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 73 on March 3, 2001 of mesothelioma cancer caused by asbestos.

Born in Scipio, Utah on May 4, 1927 to Charles Henry and Isabel Quarnberg

Morrison. Moved to Salt Lake City at the age of 16. Graduated from Granite High School. Served in the military (Army, Navy). Worked for 33 years at Kennecott (Arthur, Magna, and Bonneville Mills), retired in 1985. Also worked part time for the Newspaper Agency Corp. after retirement.

He bowled for many years on the Friday Night Sportsman's league. He also loved gardening and roses.

He married Joyce Porter (deceased), Beth Bradford (divorced).

He is survived by wife Afton Phelps Lafeen, sons: Larry Morrison, Tacoma, WA; Hal (Linda) Lafeen, Danville, KY; Jim (Pam) Lafeen, West Jordan; daughters: Leslie (Chad) Peterson, South Jordan; Carroll Lafeen Glore (James) Walker, West Valley City; Sharon Lafeen, West Valley City; Sharlean Lafeen (Rod) Burgers, Kearns; Marie Lafeen Shepherd, West Valley City; Faithe Lafeen (Scott) Bluck, West Valley City; brothers: Eddie (Lorraine) Morrison, Murray; Marvin (Thelma) Morrison, Sandy; sister, Karen Morrison, Murray; also many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, brother, Arnell, and son Kim.

Viewing will be held Thurs. March 8, 2001 between 6 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service. Services will be held at Memorial Estates on 6500 So. Redwood Road on Friday March 9, 2001 at 11 a.m.

Donations may be made to the Utah Cancer Institute in the name of Glenn Morrison.
