Joyce Morrison Butterfield, passed away August 19, 1991 at a local hospital.

Born June 23, 1929 in West Jordan, Utah to Leo D. and Maude Walton Porter. Married Glenn F. Morrison (divorced); Don A. Butterfield (deceased).She loved watching sports of all kinds while making afghans for all those close to her. She treasured the moments spent at her cribbage board and games with her family.

Survived by sons and daughters: Mrs. Chad (Leslie) Peterson, South Jordan; Larry Morrison and Mrs. Mike (Tammy) Romanoff, Auburn, Washington; Jill Butterfield, Redmond, Washington; Troy Butterfiled, Onalaksa, Washington; Kyle Butterfield, Mesa, Arizona; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Ronald (Jean) Beckstom, Salt Lake City; Dale Porter, Alpine; Blaine Porter, Midvale; Mrs. Reed (Pauline) Metcalf, Salt Lake city; and 10 grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Noel Kim Morrison.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 22, 1991 at 1 p.m. at the Union Fort 1st LDS Ward chapel, 7400 So. 1000 East. Viewing one hour prior to serivce. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens. Funeral Directos, Cannon Mortuary.

Lorraine Faye Morrison Never Forgotten Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Lorraine Faye Morrison, was born October 3, 1928 in Salt Lake City to Joseph Parley and Edith Viola Greenwall Heiner. She married Thomas Edmund Morrison October 3, 1946 and later sealed in the Jordan River Temple. Lorraine was referred to as the "Little old lady from Murray". She enjoyed gardening and her son's muscle cars. She loved to cook and she made the best pies in town. Lorraine is survived by her children, Terry (Linda) Morrison, Lee, and Jan Morrison; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one on the way; brother, Jerry (Norma) Heiner; sister, Audry (Sonny) Davies; and sister-in-law, Connie Heiner. She is preceded in death by her husband; brother, Donald; sister, Donna; son, Edmond Faye Morrison; and grandson, Dallon. The family would like to thank all the caring staff at Garden Terrace. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary (4760 So. State St.). Warren Benjamin Thiede, 81, passed away November 19, 1995, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Warren was born November 22, 1913, in Salt Lake City to August Adolph Benjamin and Hannah Duffin Thiede. He was married to Lucy Pearl Bills on January 23, 1937, in Salt Lake City.Employed by Christensen Diamond Products for 45 years. He loved to hunt, fish, golf, ski, and be in the outdoors. Member of the LDS Church and served as Scoutmaster.

Survived by wife of 58 years; one daughter and her husband, Jill and Charles Sanders of Short Hills, New Jersey; and a granddaughter, Margaret (Maggie). He will also be missed by his brothers, Robert, Douglas, and David; and a sister, Margaret Smith; all of the Salt Lake area.

Funeral services on Wednesday, November 22, at 11 a.m., Wells Ward Chapel, 1990 South 500 East. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Tuesday evening, 6-8 p.m., and at the ward on Wednesday, 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road.

Lucy Pearl Bills Thiede passed away on December 27, 2002.

She was born on December 15, 1918 in Eureka, Utah to Martha Maria Morrison and Abraham Worthington Bills. She was raised in Salt Lake City by her grandparents, Charles and Isabelle Morrison. On January 23, 1937 she married Warren Benjamin Thiede in Salt Lake City. They resided most of their married life in Sugarhouse. Pearl was active in the PTAs of Forest Elementary School, Irving Junior High and South High. She was a member of the LDS church and taught Primary for many years at Wells Ward. Pearl was an excellent cook and enjoyed traveling and fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren who passed away in 1995. She is survived by her daughter, Jill Sanders of Short Hills, NJ and granddaughter, Margaret (Maggie) Sanders of St. Louis, Missouri.

Pearl suffered a severe stroke in 1995 and has resided the last seven years at St. Joseph Villa. The family thanks the many caregivers at St. Joseph Villa for their thoughtfulness and care during those years.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 2, 2003 at 12 noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, where friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Road.

Francis Earl Haskell, 81, passed away Sunday April 25, 2004, from complications of a stroke, at Mountain View Hospital. He was born September 30, 1922, to Leo Earl and Matilda Hanks Haskell in Salem, Utah. He was raised on the family farm East of Payson and graduated from Payson High School. He then joined the Navy during World War Il and became a Navy Pilot, flying a cargo plane over the South Pacific.
After the war, he married Lois Singleton, on March 6, 1946, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had five children, one daughter and four sons, Susan, Lee, Billy, Kent, and Dan. He cherished his family and felt it important to take them on a family vacation each year. Lois passed away December 26, 2001 and Francis remarried Marlene Lance Gross on March 9, 2002. He loved to work. He worked at the Payson Post office for 35 years. He was a mail carrier, a clerk and Postmaster for several years. He was also a farmer of 120 acres and ran a cattle ranch of 100 head of Polled Herefords. He knew the importance of work and taught his children the same. He also served as President of the Payson Chamber of Commerce for four years. He also loved to hunt and fish. He and Lois bought a boat and a cabin in Strawberry and loved to spend vacations and weekends there. She would read or crochet while Francis would try his luck at fishing. Later in life when he couldn't work as much he loved to sit in his favorite chair and read the newspaper. He never missed a good ball game on TV and was always a good arm chair coach. He and Lois talked often about the great days they had together watching their boys play ball. Francis loved his cattle herd and would spend many sleepless nights helping them deliver their new born. He loved working the earth and would plow until dark, only quitting because the tractor had no lights. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many positions, such as Scout Master, Priest Advisor, Young Men's President, High Priest Instructor, and Stake Financial Clerk. He was also called as a Seventy (Stake Missionary) and loved teaching the gospel to nonmembers for serval years.

He is survived by his wife Marlene, of Payson, daughter Susan (Neil) Lund of Murray, sons Lee (Maxyne) Haskell of Elk Ridge, Kent (Julie) Haskell of Elk Ridge, Dan (Tina) of Stockton. Step children Ken (Jerry) Lance of Spring Lake, Charlotte (Gary) Green of Fruit Heights, Stan Lance of Payson, and Jolene (Mike) Holbrook of Kaysville. Twenty-six grandchildren and four great-grand children. A sister Leona Close and a brother Dwane Haskell both of Payson. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois, of 55 years, a son, William (Billy) Haskell and a granddaughter Amy.

Funeral services will be held Thursday April 29, 2004 at 11 :00 am in the Mountain View 9th Ward Chapel, 1128 East 100 South, Payson, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening April 28, 2004 from 6-8 P.M. at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West Payson, Utah and one hour before the funeral service on April 29, 2004 at the Mountain View Chapel. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by the American Legion, Dist. #4.

Vilo Singleton Barrett, age 79, passed away July 31, 1996, in Salt Lake City.
Born February 5, 1917 in Elsinore, Utah, to Williams and Margaret Morrison Singleton.
She married Melvin A. Barrett on September 29, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Vi grew up in Springville, Utah. She raised her family in Provo, Utah. She worked in the community for many years in banking and secretarial positions and later sold real estate. In her retirement years she spent many hours making quilts and afghans and doing things for her family and others she loved. She had two dogs she lavished her attention on. She was always available for anyone who needed a helping hand. Her family wishes to express their appreciation to all at Highland Cove Health Center for the loving care she received. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Vilo is survived by one son, M. Keith (Diane) Barrett, of Twin Falls, Idaho; one daughter, Shirley (Clayton) Ritchie, of Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois (Francis) Haskell and Iris (Blaine) Crook, both of Payson, Utah. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, one sister and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 5, 1996, 11 a.m. at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends may call on Monday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Provo City Cemetery.

He held a contract to carry mail between Payson, Eureka and Levan until about a year ago when he went to work on the Union Pacific railroad.

William Garth Singleton, age 75, died October 11, 1994 in a Salt Lake hospital. Born January 10, 1919 in Eureka, Utah to Williams and Margaret Morrison Singleton. Married Ramona Lefler on August 2, 1941 in Evanston, Wyoming. Marriage later solemnized on April 15, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a member of the LDS Church. Veteran of World War II and retired from Utah Power and Light Company.Survived by: Wife of Salt Lake City; two sons, Merlin G. (Phyllis), Bluffdale, Utah and Paul Ross (Peggy), Salt Lake City, Utah; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vilo Barrett, Salt Lake; Lois Haskell and Iris Crook, both of Payson, Utah; preceded in death by a great-grandson, father, mother, one sister and two brothers.
